I have lived in Wingrave since October 2014, together with my wife Tracey and our two boys. As some will be aware, I have been Chair of WWRSAL (Wingrave with Rowsham Sports and Leisure) since 2018. I have previously held similar roles when in Outback Australia as a general committee member of the Roxby Downs Community Board and also a member of their Business Forum subcommittee when I lived there in 2013.
As a Chartered Engineer, and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia (holding mutual recognition with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in the UK) I am hoping to be able to help the Parish Council as more development work and future neighbourhood plans encroach on our village – and hope my 20 plus years working in construction and engineering projects may prove useful experience to the existing committee. I have a keen interest in:
1) Improving our community assets for the wider benefit of all users,
2) Promoting sustainability (by reducing waste and our human footprint on nature whilst embracing renewable carbon neutral energy whenever feasible), and
3) Creating a safe, happy and healthy environment for us to all enjoy.
In tandem with my connections to WWRSAL, my interests lie in ensuring Wingrave with Rowsham’s Parish community and its facilities are looked after and improved for future generations to come.
